Chelsea are looking at ways to cut a number of unused players from the squad. But Tuchel said Loftus Cheek would get a chance to prove himself.
Tuchel said after Saturday’s 2-1 friendly win over Arsenal: “It is too early to judge Reuben.”
“He has everything in his hands. He can determine his own future.”
“Usually I’m happy with him. And that’s why he’s playing. He deserves to play against Arsenal.”
“And I think he can do better than that. He has many talents. I was never satisfied with him. Because I know he can be better, he hasn’t shown his best performance yet.”
Ruben Loftus-Cheek told the Chelsea website: “I had a difficult season with a serious injury that affected both my body and mind. when I started to return to training I hardly dared to take the risk of intercepting the ball. So I try to focus on the practice of taking risks in approaching the ball. and finally it arrived Now that feeling is gone I will be fit to feel confident in my body. And I hope this will be a good season for me.”
However, it is expected that in the coming season Ruben Loftus-Cheek will remain at Stamford Bridge.
